Failure to meet payments will result in termination of the nursery place and the parent remains responsible for all outstanding fees. We would hope you appreciate we have a high amount of overheads and are unable to cover these if late payments are made.
Nursery Grant (Free for 3&4 Funding):
At the time of publishing all 3 and 4 year olds will receive the LEA nursery grant the term after their 3rd birthday. Please note this is only given during term times in the academic year for Gloucestershire, therefore nursery sessions outside this time must be paid for. Parents will be asked to complete relevant documents. Please ask the management for more details.
Holidays & Sickness:
All sessions must be booked and paid for regardless of whether the child attends due to illness or being on holiday. No refunds will be given for sessions missed. For health and safety purposes we request that you inform us if your child will not be attending nursery.
Accidents, Illnesses & Medication:
We reserve the right to administer basic first aid and treatment when necessary. Parents will be informed of all accidents and will be required to sign an accident form. For accidents of a more serious nature involving hospital treatment all attempts will be made to contact the parents but failing this we are hereby authorised to act on behalf of parents to obtain the necessary treatment. We will administer prescribed medicines providing parents complete a ‘Medicine Consent’ form.
We may require parents to withdraw their child from nursery in the event they require special medical care or attention where it is considered that the child is not well enough to attend or where they may be suffering from any contagious diseases or infections which could be passed onto other children. We accept no responsibility for children contracting contagious diseases or infections. Please refer to our ‘Exclusion Guideline Policy’ below regarding incubation and exclusion periods. Parents are requested to inform us if their child is suffering from any illness or allergy before attending Kiddywinks.
Allergies:
Parents are requested to inform Kiddywinks of any food, medicine, activities or any other circumstances that may cause the child to have an allergic reaction.
We may ask parents to withdraw or remove their child from Kiddywinks in the event that parents are not completely honest about their child’s condition or withhold any important information.
Extra Sessions & Swapping:
Must be booked and confirmed with the Management, these must be paid for at time of booking. We are not able to add these onto monthly invoices unless you are a BRI employee. Swapping sessions is at the discretion of the management due to the ratio of the children and staff in each room.
Late pick up:
We would ask that you pick your child up on time at the end of their nursery session. In case of late pick up for your child, we reserve the right to charge an extra fee of £10 per child for every 15 minutes or part thereof. This will be added onto monthly invoices. This is to cover staff costs that would be incurred in this situation. If you are going to be late please inform us immediately.
Discounts:
Discounts apply to full-time nursery places; please see pricing policy.
Minimum sessions:
We advise that each child attends at least 2 regular sessions each week. We have found that anything less than this makes settling into Kiddywinks nursery life quite difficult for some children.
Nursery closures:
The nursery is closed on 8 bank holidays and shut down during the week between Christmas and New Year therefore no charges will be incurred at these times.
If in exceptional circumstances or due to bad weather and the nursery has to close and it exceeds 3 days (excluding any days when the nursery would be otherwise closed); we will credit you with an amount that represents the number of days the nursery is closed in excess of 3 days.
Termination & Notice Period:
We reserve the right to terminate a nursery place with immediate effect if any fees are not paid by the due date or if a parent, carer or child displays abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour towards a member of staff or another child. You may end this agreement at any time by giving us atleast one month’s written notice of cancelation of a nursery place, users will be charged if insufficient notice is given. Parents still remain liable for fees throughout the notice period.
Changes:
If a start date is postponed by a parent for any reason, we reserve the right to charge from the original start date shown on the application form. If a parent wishes to change the amount or time of the sessions, one month’s notice will also be required in writing. Please inform us immediately of any changes to your contact details.
Insurance:
We have an extensive insurance cover; full details of this are available from Kiddywinks Management.
Security:
Under no circumstances will the child be able to leave Kiddywinks with anyone unknown to the Kiddywinks staff unless a parent has previously arranged this.
If a parent has made alternative arrangements by telephone Kiddywinks will require the name of the person collecting the child, their address and telephone number. Proof of identity will be required upon arrival at the nursery and a password only known to the person collecting the child, child’s parent and Kiddywinks Management.
We would ask that parents/ guardians do not let other people into the nursery.
Car Park:
The car park is a one way system. Please ensure you follow the signs around the BRI site and stick to the 10 mph speed limit. If you require a site map please ask.
Photo Permission:
At Kiddywinks we use photographs of the children in and around the setting for various projects and in your child’s development folders. If you do not wish for your child to be included please speak to the management. We would ask all parents to sign the permission form provided.
Students:
Often we have students on work experience or placement and they carry out observations for their college or university work on the children. If you have any concerns regarding this please speak to a member of staff.
General:
We have obligation to report any instances that a child may have been neglected or abused to the relevant authorities. We may do so without your consent and / or informing you. Please see our safeguarding children and child protection policy.
If you have any concerns regarding the services we provide, please contact Andria White or Lorraine Carroll.
Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to us and any concerns / complaints will be dealt with straight away.
Here at Kiddywinks we carry a wide range of toys, books, equipment and activities. Unless we specifically request otherwise your child should not bring any of their own toys to nursery. If they do bring them we will not be held responsible for any loss or damage of these.
